Interdigital phlegmon (foot rot)

Interdigital phlegmon is the interdigital skin infection i.e. swelling, pus and mass inside the hoof. Quite often the disease affects both hooves. If the animal is treated at the onset of the disease, the inflammation would pass without greater damage, however, if the animal is not timely attended, the infection may spread all over the interdigital skin surface, lead to complications and such animal might go for slaughter only.
